My biggest fear
April 1, 2008 – 11:09 pm by JohnThe governmental injustice that gives me the most nightmarish flashes, the most cold sweats, the most nerve-wracking fear, is socialized medicine. Reading this news item made the realization that Americans are going to be victims of socialized medicine sooner rather than later hit me quite hard: Most U.S. doctors back national insurance plan. Now, it has been known for about a hundred years that the American Medical Association is run by a bunch of State-worshiping socialist dimwits and therefore most doctors don’t know the first damn thing about economics, politics, property rights, individualism, or moral philosophy in general. It isn’t surprising that this appears to be (at least) the second survey of American doctors to find that nearly two-thirds of them support socialized medicine: while Googling this story to find a good and permanent link, I also came across this 2004 article.
This endorsement by so many doctors will only bolster and accelerate the plans to inflict socialized medicine on innocent, peaceful, freedom-loving Americans. This isn’t the first time that this realization hit me hard. I’ve known it’s been inevitable for several years. Former semi-libertarian Neal Boortz assured us of this in a 2003 column on World Net Daily. There is no defense against it. Objection is worthless. Resistance is futile (I had to say it). Voting against its proponents, as I have done, is less than worthless. Representative government, indeed.
