Michio Kaku: Time-travel, teleportation will happen

April 9, 2008 – 8:17 pm by John

Michio Kaku is so bad-ass it makes my head hurt. I have no political/libertarian spin for this in any way, but I’m still posting it on my blag instead of my livejournal—that’s how cool he is.

In an interview with the Telegraph, he predicts that time-travel, Star Trek–like teleportation, and near-perfect cloaking devices (invisibility) are well within the reach of physics in the next few centuries. He also thinks alien life will be discovered pretty soon, why, I don’t know.

Michio Kaku is the author of three awesome books about physics and cosmology for the layman, Beyond Einstein, Hyperspace, and Parallel Worlds, among others. He appeared prominently on “Stephen Hawking’s Universe” and “Our Elegant Universe,” hosts a weekly radio show on the CUNY campus radio station (I think), was interviewed on Tech TV several times before it was bought by sucky G4, and appeared several times on Coast To Coast A.M., Art Bell’s usually-loony conspiracy-theorist/science-fictional-hoax radio show. And his website is pretty sweet (check out “Articles” at the top).

  2. There’s no such thing as time, so you can’t invent time travel.
