Despite the rhetoric, only individuals pay taxes.

Yeah, I’m glad you brought that up. I was going to, but I wanted to make a quick link-and-run post. My understanding is that businesses don’t pay taxes because they simply cover the costs of the taxes by passing on the costs to their customers. Is there a more technical/legal/economic reason businesses don’t really pay taxes?
