Market anarchist blag carnival, last edition

March 3, 2009 – 10:07 pm by John

I am still really bummed out that February’s edition of the market anarchist blag carnival will probably be the last. It is being discontinued due to lack of interest. I can tell from my very passive browsing of other people’s blagrolls, from seeing all the people who post at this website and Mises.org and elsewhere, and from all the sundry blags that have hosted the market anarchist carnival that anarchism in general, and libertarian market anarchism in particular, are very vibrant and active on the interblags. But I guess not enough people submitted posts and read it each month. One of my primary non-work or -athletics related goals in my life, constantly, was to write posts that were worthy of exhibiting in the market anarchist blag carnival and/or Rad Geek’s shameless self-promotion Sunday. The former, in my mind, required a certain level of philosophy or insight that the average libertarian posting didn’t meet. That’s the only reason I didn’t submit something each month; I didn’t want to submit my amateur Obama-bashing rant when other people had essays that contributed something substantial to our understanding of libertarianism. I am unable to write something very philosophical or unique each month because I’m not that good and I’m certainly not that good in the little time I have. After I post this, I’m going almost straight to bed with one post still in draft form since last weekend and another couple in my mind that I would have liked to pound out tonight. There’s just no time to write with either the quantity or quality that I’d like, but I’ll still aspire to write good philosophy and economics posts at least once a month, market anarchist blag carnival or no.
